The Panhellenic Association of Table Olives Processors, Packers and Exporters (PEMETE) attended the Summer Fancy Food Show 2018, the largest food and beverage trade show in North America. The event was held at Javits Centre, in New York on June 30 –  July 2, 2018 with more than 2.600 exhibitors from 54 countries and 40.000 visitors.

With Greece at the heart of the exhibition as a partner country where the unique presence of the OLIVE YOU campaign took place at the corner of the exhibition, with the participation of 7 exporting companies – members of PEMETE in a modern and stylish pavilion.

The opening of the exhibition was held by the Minister of Agriculture Mr. Evangelos Apostolou, who visited the “Olive You” booth, as well as each exporting company separately.

During the exhibition, the modern profile of the most popular European table olive varieties emerged, while the visitors were informed about the quality and taste of the product by testing new commercial types from the most popular varieties. At the same time and in cooperation with Enterprise Greece, PEMETE and OLIVE YOU welcomed the visitors of the exhibition, with two 3-hour presentations of the original recipes of the Program in a specially designed area, with olive as the main ingredient, by chef Giorgos Katranzos.

A large number of visitors visited the “Olive You” booth and willingly responded to the campaign’s questionnaire by trained promoters, collecting useful information about the knowledge and new market trends. The goal of Olive You in the US market is to increase the consumption of the product by constantly informing the American professionals and public about the comparative advantage of natural maturation of the olives on the olive tree (natural product / black natural olives), their qualitative superiority due to the application of hygiene rules at all stages of the product (food safety) and with the incorporation of the product into the daily dietary habits of consumers as a key ingredient and/or as a snack.
